Sovereign Retaining Wall Specification
EXTERNAL / RETAINING WALLS
SUBSTRATE
Substrate to receive waterproofing must be smooth, dry and free of any dirt, grease and oils. The deck must then be pressure washed with a high pressure cleaner and allowed time to dry.
PRIMING
All verges, flat surfaces and other areas to receive waterproofing should be fully primed with Sovereign recommended primer and allowed time to dry as per manufacturer's instructions.
Apply Sovereign recommended waterproofing system to the primed vertical and horizontal areas including turn-ups, turn-downs, fillets and flat edges. Waterproofing membrane must be reinforced at turn-ups and turn-downs.
Manufacturer’s application instructions must be strictly adhered to. Finish with a UV stable topcoat of approved colour in exposed areas. Install an 8mm high density polyethylene dimpled drainage layer or fiber cement board to all vertical and horizontal areas. Backfilling to be done with clean washed river sand only, no building rubble or sharp objects.
FLASHING ALTERNATIVES
1. Glass fibre/polyester membrane with Sovereign recommended compound to turn-ups.
2. Aluminium/stainless steel trim sealed with a polyurethane bead to upper edge.
